Large Footed Serving Bowl - Cone 10 Reduction

$245.00

This large, footed serving bowl was wheel thrown and fired to cone 10, giving it a rich, deep copper-green exterior with lots of depth and movement. After throwing, I turned the piece over and trimmed it completely flush, mirroring the interior curve, then added a coil of clay and threw the foot directly onto the form for a little extra elevation and presence. Inside, a creamy white glaze spills over the rim, blushing into soft plum tones as it pulls dimension into the copper surface. It’s generously sized and made to be used—perfect for salads, pasta, fruit, or simply living out on the table.

11.5” wide x 3.75” tall. The foot is 5” wide.

I fired this piece at Fireside Pottery in Warren, Maine while being mentored by Nancy Button. Cone 10 reduction firing limits oxygen in the kiln, allowing iron and other materials in the clay and glaze to flux, deepen, and develop complex surface variation. This bowl was from our 4th and last firing together. I am so eager to keep gaining confidence with firing cone 10 kilns.
